If you have any problem with FTP connection, try changing the options on the Built-in FTP Client page of the Settings window:
You may change from Direct Connection to Proxy, if you need to connect through a proxy server.
Passive modes are usually the only choice when you are behind a firewall or do not have a real IP-address.
